Welcome to the Region 4 Head Start Technology Project

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

The Region 4 Office of Head Start of the Department of Health & Human Services has funded a special technology project to assist in achieving the following regional technology goals:

·      To assess the current technology status and progress of Head Start programs within each state in key areas including but not limited to internet access, email usage, hardware and software usage, and electronic transfer of information.

·      To increase the utilization of technology by Head Start programs within each state in order to improve communication, productivity, and effectiveness.

·      To improve the ability of Head Start programs to obtain, consolidate and analyze state-wide data in real time for the purpose of program improvement and communicating accomplishments to key stakeholders.

To achieve these goals, the Region 4 Office has awarded grant funds to a designated technology lead agency in each of the eight states in the region (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee).  To receive these funds each state lead agency had to complete a proposal outlining a state technology plan. Each plan was required to include strategies to achieve the regional goals including specific strategies to insure maximum participation of all Head Start grantees within the state in the completion of a region-wide on-line agency and staff technology needs assessment survey.

This website is designed to collect survey data from Head Start agencies and Head Start staff from all eight states and to provide summary reports and analysis of the survey results.  This site includes the following:

v      Surveys – On-line Agency & Staff Survey Forms (Surveys no longer available for entry)

v     Resources Instructions, survey forms for downloading or printing; supplemental worksheets; technical support contacts; state technology proposals, etc.

v     Reports - On-line, dynamic local, state, and regional reports of the status of completed surveys as well as summary and detailed reports of survey results.
